España!!!
I watched the Euro Championship final between Spain and Germany today...Spain played really skillfully and won 0-1 (which is the first major title for them in like, 44 years)! All the fans in Madrid were flipping out and going crazy. ^_^ But seriously, the Spanish team really deserved the win...Germany just wasn't able to get anything done and there were several fouls and kinda nasty plays on their part. Although I'm not a big fan of sports in general, I actually enjoy watching is football (soccer), probably 'cause I find it more exciting to watch and easier to get into than many other sports and my parents are into it, being that they're from countries where it's very popular. It's pretty much the only sporting event aside from the Olympics that I watch. So anyways, congratulations to Spain!
I'm heading down to the Japanese Consulate in NY this week to get my "cultural activities" visa for entry into Japan later this year...I've gathered all the necessary materials and I'm gonna try to head out really early in the morning so hopefully I won't have to wait too long at the Consulate. I'll be relieved when it's all done and everything's set...one of the worst things that could happen in my situation is to get all the way there (after a ridiculously long flight that will probably end up taking 15 or so hours) and be rejected cause my entry papers are incorrect. >_< After the visa's all dealt with, I'll probably do some omiyage shopping around town...I have to think up some good things to give to people that represent NY in some way and are nice but easy to carry.
